MODERN ART BARBIE - THE 2026 POST HIRST EDITION / BARBARIC OOAK CUSTOM SILKSTONE DOLL
This is a custom reroot + lavishly restyled… Her face remains untouched, she’s super cute already so why fix something that isn’t broken.
I did upgrade the body and switched it out for a SOLID vintage silkstone one, noticeably heavier. Her hair has been replaced with a triblend of high quality SARAN (goodbye scratchy nylon), now waist length with a boil permed wave.
Her jewellery is solid sterling silver + glass beads, therefore should be doll safe (nickel free), made by myself and comes as a pair with extra bracelets.
This NEW doll (although unboxed for the sake of customisation), is an OOAK custom version of the MODERN ART BARBIE 2025 REPRODUCTION, a release that focused on the classic vintage outfit and was a 20K Gold Label release.
Generally hairstyles are intended to conceal the length (if long) and often sectioned (where applicable), so that a buyer can easily dismantle the bangs or partings from the bulk; should buyers wish to cut or restyle later, it’s easily done.
The hair fibre is Saran and has been LIGHTLY GEL FIXED in parts allowing for transportation/postage. Dolls will have nets when required and occasionally hairstyles MAY be stitched into place (if so an obvious thread colour will be used, easily separated).
The doll comes boxed, tissued with ribbons as shown in the photos... Mattel shippers will be provide (but may not be original shipping box).

DRESS CARE:
For the best effect, do not wash… Hand wash ONLY if necessary.
BODY CARE:

HAIR CARE:
The hair can be restyled using cool water or permed using boiling water and set in ice water… Gel can be easily washed out... No heated appliance should be used on saran fibres.
PRICE:
Reflects overall production cost, time and my saintly patience... Silkstone material is not a speedy rooting job but is a superior and precise finish. Admittedly this doll ran high on production BUT keeping price low as possible before effectively giving her away... In which case, preferable to keep her.

NOTE:
IF you want a custom Silkstone doll with a modern rooting, a micro rooting, particular pattern style or altered hairline, query a made to order commission or check out if others are listed. Still have a few Midge dolls left... should you want a Silkstone Barbie, then you will need to provide the doll or expect secondary market costing if sourcing older dolls. Unless recently released and readily available, those silkie ladies can get very costly.
